The Escape returns for 2006 with no major changes after major revisions were made for the 2005 model year. The Escape is available in 10 trim lines: Limited, XLS, XLT 2.3L, XLT 3.0L, and XLT Sport, with either 2WD or 4WD configurations. The Escape compact utility is equipped with a 2.3L engine producing 153-hp and the 200-hp 3.0 V6 on the XLT. The interior includes white-faced gauges, floor mounted gear shifter, and additional storage compartments. Returning to the Escape line-up for 2006 is the XLT Sport trim, which adds unique aluminum wheels, two-tone paint, and black side step bars.
