The Pontiac Torrent will be one of a number of GM or GM-affiliated mid-size SUVs produced on the Theta platform in the next few years. Most likely to appear as a 2006 model, the Torrent will replace the poor-selling Aztek. It is likely that the Torrent will be constructed in Ingersoll, Ontario, alongside the Chevrolet Equinox and a yet-unnamed Suzuki equivalent. In addition to the two latter vehicles, the Torrent will also share its platform with the Saturn Vue.
