The 2008 Ford Fusion is a mid-size sedan that fits in the Ford sedan lineup between the smaller Ford Focus and the larger Ford Taurus. At 100 cu-ft, the Ford Fusion's passenger volume exceeds that of the Chevrolet Malibu, but is below a Toyota Camry's.

The Ford Fusion comes in three trims: S, SE, and SEL, all of which come powered by a 2.3L 4-cylinder DOHC engine that produces 160 hp and 156 lb-ft, and achieves a gas mileage of 20 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. Optionally available on SE and SEL trims is a more powerful 3.0L 6-cylinder engine with 221 hp and 205 lb-ft of torque. Gas mileage for the V6 is 18 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. All-wheel-drive is available on models with the V6 engine.

The Ford Fusion offers excellent handling from multi-link front and rear suspensions.

Standard features on all models include air con, cloth upholstery, power windows and mirrors, and remote keyless entry. ABS, side-impact airbags, side-curtain airbags, and frontal airbags are standard, as well.
