Anonymous: No tire lasts 10 yrs...get real Nov 1, 11
Anonymous: I work for a tire shop in the pacific northwest and have been putting on tires with DOT# dates ranging from 2 years to stuf built in the late 80s. Tires will last you years and years depending on how you drive and the care you have for your tires. To help tires last longer it is best to ensure correct air pressure and exposure to the elements (proper storage durring the off months).60 min put on a special about needing to change your tires every 7 years which is bogus. Life expectancy depends on tire care, vehicle maintence, and exposure to UV radiation. I have in my store at this moment tires that were built in 65 still looking like the day they were shiped to us (plus a lot of dust). Not saying i would run a tire that old and that has been out in the sun the whole time but just looking at your tires can give you an indication of how long your snow tires will last you. Dec 3, 11
