A-Data Nobility NH01

$151.00 Released April, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:USB 3.0 connection is blazing fast, the only performance bottle neck of this device is the 5400rpm hard drive itself. Available in a range of capacities to suit all uses (320 - 750GB). USB3.0 connection provides enough power for the hard drive, the days of using 2 USB cables (power/data) will soon be over.

The Cons:Mirror finish is easily scratched, and attracts endless finger prints. Below average construction, plastics are weak and creaks, you get what you pay for. Is not bundled with any backup software, which is disappointing compared to Buffalo's USB3.0 drive.

The A-Data Nobility NH01 is a portable hard drive for people who need to carry a large amount of data. It is designed with a glossy front panel, and comes in pink, blue, silver and black. When connected via USB 3.0, it can manage transfer speeds of up to 88MB/s read and 81MB/s write.

It can also connect at lower speeds via USB 2.0, or go in a 2.5in SATA port. Various storage capacities are available, from 320GB to 640GB. Free software includes HDDtoGO and OStoGO, and a USB 3.0 cable is included as well.

The included HDDtoGO software allows you to access your data on someone else's computer without risking leaving any of that data behind when you unplug the drive. OStoGO allows you to move the contents of a bootable operating system disk onto the hard drive, giving the hard drive itself the ability to be the drive the computer uses to load up.
