The Alpine iDA-X303 is an in-dash head unit that is designed to provide seamless control of your iPod, iPhone and other digital devices over your car stereo. The three color, two line LCD display clearly shows track information and the large double-action rotary encoder knob gives maximum control over music search functions like QuickSearch, making finding songs and controlling the volume quick and easy. The superfast USB connection, with included cable, provides ultra-fast digital data transfer with newer iPods, and a 24-Bit D/A converter with a signal to noise ratio of 105 dB ensures great quality sound. The iDA-X303 has expandable options to add other media sources such as HD Radio, Satellite Radio, DVD changer and other auxilary sources. The Panasonic CQ-VW100U is an in-dash DVD receiver with a motorized 7" widescreen LCD touch-panel monitor. The receiver features a built-in amp that provides 80 watts of RMS power and includes Dolby ProLogic and DTS decoders for high performance sound. It supports DVD, DivX, CD, CD-R/RW, and MP3 playback formats and has a 3-band SQ3 equalizer and built-in AM/FM tuner. The CQ-VW100U is compatible with iPod adapters, Satellite Radio and can also be connected to a CD changer. It also has a rearview camera input and can be used with the optional Bluetooth hands-free kit to take phone calls. The receiver required double-DIN mounting and comes with a 1 year limited warranty. The CQ-VW100U is less advanced than Panasonic's CQ-VX100U since it lacks the detachable front panel and ignition-linked monitor retraction that comes with CQ-VX100U.

The CDE-9872 CD/MP3 receiver from Alpine was released in November of 2007. It sports an optional full speed iPod connection and a percentage search function to find the most frequently played songs from a connected iPod’s library. A high-speed crossover is standard and adjustable to 80, 120, or 160 Hz in an effort to protect factory speakers. The base of 16 watts per channel can be upgraded to 45 watts while a Sub output can be used to power a sub-woofer. The sub-woofer level can be adjusted from -15db to 0db in 1db increments. The CDE-9872 is also compatible with Bluetooth devices, with an adpater, satellite and HD radio as well as having 12 FM presets and 6 AM presets.

The XD5110 is an entry-level in-dash receiver from car audio manufacturer Dual. It supports 100W of total output power, distributed among four channels. The XD5110 has a fairly standard feature set, with a CD player and an AM/FM tuner compatible with European frequencies. Thirty presets are built in. Other features include a bass boost option, and anti-shock mechanism which minimizes CD skipping. The XD5110 lacks many features common in today's in-dash receivers, like USB connectivity and support for iPods and satellite radio. It is no longer manufactured by Dual.

The Pioneer DEH-P7300 is a mid-range audio head unit. It has many features to play clear audio from a CD with an easy-to-use interface, but doesn't include extras like Bluetooth or MP3 play. The Boss 648BI is an automotive in-dash CD receiver with Bluetooth offered by Boss Audio. It features a motorized slide-down full detachable front panel which has a integrated USB port to enjoy media off USB devices. There is also a SD/MMC card slot, rear aux input and is ready for full iPod control, with optional integration cable. It is compatible with WMA/MP3/CD/CD-R/CD-RW formats and has an FM radio tuner with 30 presets. The Pioneer AVH-P5100DVD is a 7-inch touch screen single-DIN DVD multimedia A/V receiver. Designed to be installed in a vehicle, the A/V head unit can play DVD-R/RW, CD-R/RW, DivX, MP3, WMA, USB, and AAC. Though the price is relatively expensive, the device offers some nice features to back it up, such as a 7 inch touchscreen through which an iPod can be controlled that is also fully motorized, flipping out to minimize the dash space necessary as well as presenting a less interesting target for car theives.
