Acer Aspire One 521

$350.00 Released May, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Affordable price point. Not another Atom powered netbook - powerful dual core AMD Neo, ATI Radeon 4225. HDMI port; plays HD content smoothly.

The Cons:When it comes to battery life, AMD based devices can't keep up with their Atom / Core 2 ULV based equivalents - ~4:00 minutes of battery life. Slower 1.3GHz core speed - like Intels Core 2 ULV it is poorer for intensive applications that require raw single core processing power (eg/ games). Lots of pre-installed bloatware.

The Acer Aspire One 521 is an addition to Acer's netbook line featuring AMD V-series mobile processors. It offers a 10.1 inch display, build in web cam, 160GB hard drive and 1GB of ram along with 3 USB 2.0 ports and stadnard 3.5mm audio in/out jacks.

It is advertised with the ability to playback and output 1080p HD content via it's build in HDMI output. The Aspire One 521 features AMD's single core V105 processor running at 1.2 Ghz and ATI Mobility Radeon HD4225 graphics card to handle HD content. It is available in brown or black with a matte exterior. It's keyboard is similar to that of the Acer Timeline series with flat keys.
