The Acer TravelMate 6593 is a notebook intended for business use, in the upper mid-range of Acer's lineup, and comes in two different versions. One of the main features of the 6593 is that it is supposed to be both secure and robust. Its security features include fingerprint reader, BIOS passwords for hard drive access, and a slot for a Kensington lock. The case is made out of magnesium alloys and is supposed to be durable and shock resistant. Both models have an Intel Core 2 Duo processor with slight variations - see below for details - and the processor is the only difference between the two. They both have 250GB SATA hard drives, Super-Multi optical drives, Intel's Graphics Media Aceelerator 4500MHD graphics processor, and 2GB of DDR3 SDRAM. They also have built-in Wi-Fi adapters and gigabit ethernet ports. For operating systems, they both include Windows Vista Business.
