Gibson Hummingbird

The Gibson Hummingbird is a mid-grade acoustic guitar which was originally introduced in 1960 as Gibson's first square-shoulder dreadnought guitar. The most current Hummingbird model is built to the same specs and standards of the original model. The Hummingbird has nickel grover roto-matic tuners with a gear ratio of 14:1 and all moving parts that are cut with exact meshing.

The Hummingbird features a high grade rosewood fingerboard with rolled edges and a split parallelogram mother of pearl inlay. The square-shoulder dreadnought body has a top constructed from a AAA-grade sitka spruce wood finish and the back and sides are made of mahogany. The Hummingbird has an element active acoustic pick up system from L.R. Baggs with a low profile under-saddle element and an on-board preamp. The rosette of the Hummingbird has a double ring with a seven-ply binding main ring and a three-ply binding on the second ring. As with all of the acoustic guitars from Gibson, the bracing is hand-scalloped. A single "X" bracing pattern is used inside the body of the Hummingbird Acoustic Guitar as more of a traditional inclusion.

Gibson J-200 Custom

The Gibson J-200 Custom is a member of Gibson's storied super jumbo acoustic guitars. It comes built with gold grover imperial tuners, an exact replication from the original which came into the guitar world in the early 1970s. The imperials have a gear ratio of 16:1 and provide a durable housing to protect the gear and string post. The Gibson J-200 sports the traditional crown peghead logo which has been on Gibson guitars since the 1940s. The most ornamental part of the guitar is the hand-crafted circle around the soundhole which is a double-ring rosette with the main ring made up of seven-ply binding, the second ring a three-ply binding and with an albalone-filled middle. The guitar is built with hand-scalloped bracings which are placed in a pattern that is the exact same pattern that Gibson's very first 1937 super jumbo.

The Gibson J-200 Studio is another member of the super jumbo line of gibson guitars. Like the Standard member of the line, the Studio has a rotomatic tuner, a nickel grover one that has a gear ratio of 14:1 and heavy duty housing for gear and string post protection. To minimize the possibility of slippage the moving parts are cut for exact meshing. The Gibson J-200 Studio comes with a hand-crafted, double-ring rosette with two rings: a second ring built with three-ply binding, and a main one built with a seven-ply binding. Like other guitars in the line, the Studio is built with a bracing pattern that is the same as the first 1937 Super Jumbo, only it is a lighter weight. The Gibson SJ-250 Monarch is the most expensive guitar in the super jumbo line. It is fifteen thousand dollars more expensive than the next expensive Gibson guitar. The pickguard is in the normal super jumbo shape but also includes a beautiful floral and vine design with a cream border and citrus dots. The Gibson Woody Guthrie SJ Acoustic Guitar is a remodel of the original instrument played by folk singer Woody Guthrie, writer of "This Land Is Your Land" in 1940. The Woody Guthrie SJ is a "faithful" replication of the 1945 Southern Jumbo played by the artist. The guitar sports nickel Gotoh white button tuners with a gear ratio of 15:1 while all moving parts are cut for exact meshing.

The Woody Guthrie SJ is equipped with an Element Active Acoustic Pickup system from L.R. Baggs featuring a low profile undersaddle element and an onboard preamp with a removable volume control mounted just inside the sound hole. The rosewood fingerboard features a rolled edge design and split parallelogram mother of pearl in lays. The guitar sports the tapered dovetail neck joint design which is one of the oldest methods of joining the neck to the body of the guitar. The guitar creation process is done entirely by hand which allows the body and neck to become one solid piece of resonating wood without metal to interfere with sound vibration. The slope-shoulder body design of the Woody Guthrie guitar has a top constructed of AA-grade Sitka spruce wood finish while the back and sides are of genuine Honduran mahogany. The hand crafted rosette is a double-ring design constructed of a main ring with seven-ply binding and a second ring with three-ply binding. The bracing of the Woody Guthrie SJ features a variation of the hand scalloped X pattern bracing situated behind the sound hole.

The Gibson Aaron Lewis Southern Jumbo Acoustic Guitar is a tribute to Aaron Lewis, lead singer of the rock band Stain'd. Aaron Lewis wrote and performed many of the band's songs using his own collection of vintage Gibson Acoustics. The Southern Jumbo was first introduced by Gibson in the 1940s. Gibson has produced 413 of the Aaron Lewis Southern Jumbo guitars that will be available in three different production models; the Aaron Lewis Southern Jumbo Standard, the Aaron Lewis Aged Southern Jumbo, and the Aaron Lewis Aged/ Signed Southern Jumbo.

The first thirteen Aaron Lewis Southern Jumbo guitars will be the aged and signed line. These guitars will be aged by hand in the Gibson Montana Art Shop. The guitars are aged to look and feel like the original 1951 model owned by Aaron Lewis. All thirteen of the aged and signed line will be played by Aaron Lewis in a live show or studio performance and completed by his autograph. Another thirty seven guitars will be aged by hand making up the Aaron Lewis Aged Southern Jumbo line. The rest will not be aged, signed, or played by the artist making up the Standard line.

The body of the Aaron Lewis Southern Jumbo is a round-shoulder design with a top constructed of Sitka spruce while the back and sides are of mahogany. The Madagascar rosewood fingerboard features Gibson Montana Standard fret wire of nickel alloy and vintage-style pearloid parallelogram inlays. The Aaron Lewis Southern Jumbo is equipped with Klusion-style nickel white button tuners with a 14:1 gear ratio and a built in L.R. Baggs Element Pickup with a single volume control mounted in the edge of the sound hole.

The Gibson John Lennon J-160E Peace Acoustic Guitar is a recreation of the instrument played by John Lennon in 1969. Featuring the same round shoulder body design the J-160E Peace of today sports nickel Gotoh pearloid keystone button tuners with a gear ratio of 15:1 while all moving parts are cut for exact meshing. The John Lennon J-160E Peace is produced in cooperation with Yoko Ono.

The John Lennon J-160E Peace is equipped with the Gibson P-90 Pickup system mounted between the base of the neck and edge of the sound hole controlled by one volume and one tone knob. The rosewood fingerboard of the J-160E Peace features a rolled edge design and genuine mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. The guitar sports the tapered dovetail neck joint design which is one of the oldest methods of joining the neck to the body of the guitar. The process done entirely by hand allows the body and neck to become one solid piece of resonating wood without metal to interfere with vibration. The round-shoulder body design of the John Lennon J-160E Peace guitar has a top constructed of AA-grade Sitka spruce while the back and sides are of mahogany. The hand crafted rosette is a single-ring with three-ply binding. The bracing of the John Lennon J-160E Peace features hand scalloped ladder bracing just as the original models of the early 1960s did. The top braces run parallel to themselves, from treble to base side.

The Gibson Pete Townshend SJ-200 is a member of the Gibson Signature Artist Series and has a fingerboard made out of rosewood. Like other super jumbo Gibson guitars, the top of the guitar is made out of AAA-grade Sitka spruce and the back and sides are made with AAA-grade East curly maple. The Gibson Pete Townshend SJ-200 is built with a L.R. Baggs element active acoustic pickup system which comes with a transducer that is more reliable than standard transducers out on the market. The bracing is hand scalloped and supports the large surface of the guitar, allowing the guitar to deliver a deeper sound.
