Adobe Photoshop Elements is a basic-level photo editing software originally released in 2001 as an affordable solution for non-professional home users or hobbyists. It forfeits Adobe Photoshop’s vast array of advanced features, while still allowing users to create, edit, organize, and share images, all at a budget-friendly price that won’t rob them blind. There have been 8 releases to date (2009), with the latest edition Adobe Photo Elements 8 offering the ability to recompose photos to any size without distortion; the ability to combine multiple exposures into one perfectly lit shot using Photomerge; and the ability to find specific friends and family members via People Recognition. Included also is a fully featured new Organizer and the opportunity to sync photos/videos on multiple computers via Auto Syncing.
