1. commented on Grand Theft Auto 4 - July 10, 2008 at 5:47 pm

"I like this game a good deal; but, its way overrated. I have a few problems with this game. The vehicles are kind of annoying, there is that same GTA tendency for the streets to fill up with whatever type of vehicle you're using, which sucks (unless its a rare car).

I hate how there aren't large areas you can control anymore. For example, GTA Vice City, you wind up with the Scarface Mansion, etc. In GTA IV, you don't inherit large areas as you own residence, leaving you with those meager parking spaces out front, which suck! they SUCK! I want garages!

Another thing-where are the tanks!? Where are the planes!? Where are DECENT helicopters!? Why can't any helicopter fly over the mock Empire State Building!? They need to release a patch with the Apache helicopter, jet airplanes, etc.

Where is the innovation!? Yeah, the aiming system is better, the cell phone works; but, they left a lot of things out. Its like we're regressing. They blew everyone away with graphics, presentation, and sound; people overlooked the fact you can't modify cars, you can't garner followers and command them, etc. San Andreas was more advanced in quite a few ways, and I think Rockstar was stupid for leaving the majority of those features out of IV.

Overall, its a solid game. Its fun, commands attention, has a decent replay value, etc. Its certainly a must have for everyone that enjoyed any of the series post GTA2. I just hate how people hype these games up so much because of graphics, etc when they should call the developers out on the faults. I don't think there will EVER be a game devoid of faults/shortcomings, GTA IV is no exception. When we hype things up and overlook the faults we just HURT OURSELVES! Think about it- the developers have NO incentive to fix the problems if everyone praises the game as though it were perfect! We have to call them out so we get higher quality games."

2. commented on iPhone 3G - July 10, 2008 at 5:37 pm

"This is overhyped and overrated. 3G is an improvement; however, there are other methods that are quite a bit faster than 3G already available. This falls in line with Apple's long history of adding features that have been available for quite some time in other devices and using "feature X" as a means to promote their product; as though the feature is something totally new. It is deceptive.

The idea people line up in the morning to get these devices is appalling, yet sadly not surprising. Apple uses peoples' ignorance to their advantage. All companies do this to some extent; however, Apple uses peoples' ignorance like a beacon when they add one/two features to a "new" device yet leave everything else intact, even when the "new" features on an Apple product have been available on some other device for 6 months.

The new and the old iphones are RIP OFFS! The storage capacity is pathetic, the pricing is abominable; and you get stuck in a contract designed to leave you unable to purchase food. Where is an SD port!? USB!? Where is bluetooth!? Apple Iphone is way behind the game in terms of quality/features, yet they'll stay ahead due to the sheer blissful ignorance of the masses. Cheers!"

ajm48786 commented on Apple iPod Touch

December 18, 2007 at 3:09 pm

"All Apple multimedia players run far behind the competition now. I have owned several Ipods; the sound quality has always been abysmal, as has the reliability, and features. They elected to leave the chrome finish on the Ipod touch for one basic yet ingenious reason:so it scratches! Apple has always manipulated customers by adding one capability to the Ipod line at a time. First we had Ipod color, then Ipod Picture, then Ipod Video; now they're leaning more toward full multimedia/hand held computer, as the competition has been pushing for at least a year. The batteries are not designed to last for more than roughly two years. They subconsciously tell the customer, "if you want to stay up to date, buy a new ipod every 2 years (or so);and don't worry about the competition, they don't make usable products, only we do." Back to the chrome finish: it is designed to look pretty for a little while;but, the ingenious part of it is it will inevitably scratch, and make your ipod look outdated. This re-enforces the customer's notion they need to buy a new Ipod soon. It is malicious, yet very smart of Apple to do this to their customers. Apple is behind the competition both in performance, capabilities, and quality. This product looks great;but, it's performance is LACKING. Apple is brainwashing people with their commercials that insult one's intelligence; and by adding feature by feature, one at a time, to get their customers to continuously buy newer Ipods. Isn't Apple supposed to be ultra modern? Does an ultra modern company based in California (of all places) really encourage all of the pollution associated with buying a new Ipod every year or so? Yes. They also got a "0" on a "Green" report. The screens are defective. The capabilities are not many. All of this is nonsense. The only technology that Apple has really done well is the Multi-Touch function; which Microsoft had already introduced via their table top computer. Ipods once were truly innovative; and the only functioning mp3 player available, that time is long gone though. Bash me now, I'm just calling it as it is."
