The AKG K 142 HD are one of four high definition headphone models offered in AKG's HD line up. This model uses on-ear, gimbal-suspended headphones that feature a semi-open design that is capable of delivering powerful, undistorted sound even at very high listening levels. These headphones are based on the legendary AKG K 141 studio headphones, which are favored by many of the world's best-selling musicians. Extra large speakers with Varimotion diaphragms give these headphones high sensitivity, a wide dynamic range and high-sound pressure levels. This high-efficiency output with wide dynamic range make this perfect for mobile environments, although the open design may disturb other people if used in a public area. The ultra-soft velvet ear pads and self adjusting headband make these a comfortable for long periods of time. High quality hardware such as gold-plated contacts and a single-sided 99.99% oxygen free cable deliver pure sound transmission, with a frequency response of 18Hz-24kHz. A 3.5mm to 6.3mm (1/8" to 1/4") adapter is included.
