AMD Athlon X2 5050e

AMD's Athlon X2 5050e is a mid-range dual-core desktop processor, based on a Brisbane core. The CPU clocks in at 2.6 GHz, and boasts good energy efficiency with a TDP of just 45 W. It lacks some of the advanced technical features of AMD's higher-end models, however, like 45nm manufacturing and an L3 cache. The 65nm core relies on an L2 cache of 2 x 512 MB, and uses an older version of HyperTransport technology. It features Cool'n'Quiet Technology for reduced heat and noise output, and Enhanced Virus Protection for defence against some viruses.
