Introduced in late April 2009, the AMD Athlon X2 7850 BE is an updated version of the 7750 BE that operates at 100MHz faster at 2.8GHz. Built on a K10 quad-core design with two disabled cores, the X2 7850 BE enjoys a considerable performance advantage over the older X2 series, and can be further overclocked through use of it's unlocked multiplier - making it ideal for gaming enthusiasts on a budget. This is also due to the fact that the vast majority of games remain limited when it comes to the use of multiple threads, relying on individual core speed rather than the number of cores.
