Not to be confused with the "Black Edition" moniker, the AMD BE prcoessors were part of a short-lived, now renamed series of 45w TDP processors based on AMDs dual core 65nm Athlon X2 K8 series processors. Made up of the BE-2300, 2350 and 2400 the new 45w envelope is the only advancement of this series. This improvement allows for cooler operation at similar performance levels, which in turn allows for quieter operation for less of a need to displace the heat generated by their hotter brethren. The chips run at 1.9, 2.1 and 2.3 GHz respectively. The series was refreshed/renamed with the newer 4050e (2350), 4450e (2400) and the 4850e, which runs at 2.5 GHz.
