Introduced in January 2009 with the Phenom II X4 920, the X4 940 BE is the first Phenom II computer processor - an improved Phenom design built on a 45nm process. Compatible with the AM2+ socket only, the X4 940 contains 4 cores which run at 3GHz each. Similar to previous Black Edition processors, the X4 940 BE features an unlocked CPU multiplier which allows for enthusiasts to more easily overclock.
