Introduced in April 2009 alongside the Phenom II X4 955, the Phenom II X4 945 is a high end quad-core CPU from AMD. Manufactured on AMDs fairly recent 45nm fabrication process, the X4 955 runs at a speed of 3.0GHz. Similar in almost all respects to the slightly more expensive Phenom II X4 955, the 945 runs 200MHz slower, and does not feature an unlocked CPU multiplier which allows for enthusiasts to more easily overclock. Perfect in this respect for computer enthusiasts and gamers, the chip performs admirably - the Phenom II X4 945 comes close to matching higher level C2Q offerings from Intel while being priced for slightly less.
