The Pros:Stunning design and construction - beautiful uni-body aluminum and glass build. Includes the latest generation Intel Core series processors, AMD Radeon HD 6000-series graphics. Great all-around performance - should last years.
The Cons:High price point. Mini-DisplayPort video output - rather than the much more common HDMI connection. No USB 3.0 ports.

The aforementioned components are all new on the 2011 model, they offer a considerable amount of improvement over the 2010 iMacs in terms of performance. Buyers also have a choice of up to 16GB DDR3 memory and the choice between a 1TB hard disc drive or a 256GB solid state drive. A new addition to the 27'' iMacs is the Thunderbolt port which can output different types of signals such as video and data for devices such as external monitors and external hard drives respectively. The 17'' iMac is a good option for buyers looking for a high performance all-in-one desktop that works straight out of the box.
