This seems like a pretty sweet deal to me. 24" is huge!

This computer looks awesome! A 24" apple monitor alone is around $800 or $900. Spend $1000 bucks more and you have a kick ass computer as well. It would be cheaper to build your own computer and get a 24" monitor, but it wouldn't be as this iMac. If I didn't already have a computer and a MacBook Pro, I'd be all over this in a heart beat. It even uses the new MXM mobile video card format so you can theoretically upgrade your integrated graphics. Although no products actually exist in the retail world that use this format.

It's becoming easier and easier for me to recommend Macs as Apple is now offering great value to the public. Before, Macs were just too expensive compared to their PC counterparts, but with the latest iMacs, MacBooks, and MacBook pros, you're getting an awesome rig for a decent price, add onto all of that the great Apple software and it's a pretty sweet deal. This new 24" beauty just solidifies that. It would be a real pleasure to have that sitting on your desk I'm sure.

24" is big, but Apple PC's cost too much.

This is a great machine, I've noticed a little bit of a lag since upgrading to leopard, but I'm still only running 1g ram. I think when I go to 2g it will be fine. I use a Mac Pro Quad at work with a 23" display and while that is faster and more upgradeable etc...I'd rather have my imac for home use. 1 wire, no tower, beautiful display, bluetooth, airport built in. I'm interested in the aluminum ones too, but really the only thing that I envy on those (outside of the awesome case) is that it has the capability for blue-ray.
