"Hi cyclingfriedmanite, I was wondering if you disassembled and reassembled the Malm bed from ikea for a move. If so, did you need any special tools? We have a used one from a friend and thinking of taking it off of his hands for our new place. We move next week and any tips would be appreciated. more

Hi archimama, here are the instructions to the assembly of the Malm bed: instructions

No, I'm sorry, we never moved the bed anywhere but the assembling process was very straightfoward so I don't think you're going to have any problems! Maybe the only tool that could really be useful is an automatic screwdriver.
Good luck with your move.

It's been a while since I assembled-disassembled-reassembled my Malm bed. I believe the Malm bed assembles using Allen keys and IKEA supplies the proper ones with the bed (or just find the proper sized Allen keys). THe assembly/disassembly of the bed is pretty easy (although fairly time consuming) if you follow the step-by-step instructions provided by IKEA. If you don't have the instructions it might be a bit difficult. Try contacting IKEA for a copy of the instructions if you don't have them.
