Archos 32

$150.00 Released September, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Affordable price - cheaper than a comparatively sized iPod Touch or Microsoft Zune. Runs the open source Android operating system. Upgradable software (will be upgraded to at least Android 2.2 - from 2.1).

The Cons:No speaker. Plastic display cover is mushy and overly glossy. Cheap glossy black plastic front panel.

The Archos 32 is one of five Android Froyo tablets/PMPs that all feature the Android 2.2 ‘Froyo’ operating system and an integrated accelerometer. In particular, the 32 is cited as an Android equivalent of the iPod Touch, but cheaper.

Unfortunately it doesn't have Android Market or Google apps preloaded, as users must utilize the third-party AppsLib market instead. Featured is a 3.2” WQVGA touchscreen display, a composite jack for transmitting to a television and, more importantly, a VGA back-facing video camera. The Archos 32 can be used to watch videos, listen to music, browse the Internet, send email, and play 3D games.
