Well, the final episode just finished airing. As a fan, it was an incredible showing that was satisfying and closed up all the loose ends, and maintaining the same insane style that makes it so unique. Unlike other television finishers like Seinfeld or Cheers, Arrested Development didn't take a different approach to the last episode, which made it all the funnier, and sad at the same time.
I've been watching this show religiously since I accidentally caught the pilot and was instantly hooked. I've tried very hard to get people into the show, but it's difficult. The show is proud of its inside jokes and to continue the same storylines across entire seasons. This is what made the show such a fan favourite, but was also a barrier for newcomers.
I would've loved to see how far the show could've gone if it had received the attention it deserved both from the viewing audience and the studio executives. Thankfully, the DVDs are of excellent quality, affordable, and will be around for a long time.
