Asus Eee PC 1015PE

$344.84 Released May, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Comes with Windows 7. Affordable price point. Aluminum lid / palmrests - a huge step up over the glossy plasics of previous generations.

The Cons:Thicker, heavier and not as attractive as the similarly priced 1018P. Standard netbook components - nothing groundbreaking / powerful, Intel GMA, basic array of ports. Non-standard shrunken right shift key.

The Asus Eee PC 1015PE is a mid-range 10.1" netbook. Thin, lightweight, and featuring Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, the 1015PE provides the mobility expected of a netbook. It is notable for one year of free Asus WebStorage, up to 500 GB, in addition to a 250GB hard drive.

The netbook utilizes one of four Intel Atom processors, combining with 1 GB of RAM to enable adequate performance in basic applications and web-based computing. The 1015PE is expected to include Express Gate, a secondary, quick-booting operating system which provides fast access to certain applications, including a web browser. Battery life varies between 5 and 14 hours depending on battery choice. The 1015P seems to be identical to the 1015PE, but is white, not black.
