The Asus ET1603 is a mid-grade desktop PC that includes all of the system hardware built into the monitor; this particular type of PC is called a netbook. Due to the competitive pricing options and hardware benefits of similiar competitor models ASUS has found itself right at the bottom of the netbook PC market alongside MSi. The ET1603 is part of the Asus Eee Top home entertainment brand PC series, but is the slight beginning of a new branch taking root in the compact, netbook market. The 1603 PC features a 15.6" TFT LCD screen with full touch capabilities, and also includes 16:9 widescreen support. The PC is powered by an Intel Atom N270 + 945 GSE processor, and 1 GB DDR2 ram. Full storage capabilities include a built-in 160GB SATA 2, 5400rpm hard drive. The machine includes special onboard graphics specifically designed for use with the Eee Top featured touch screens. The Asus ET1603 netbook PC includes additional features such as a built-in 1.3 megapixel webcam and array microphone, both a LAN 10/100/1000 mbps and wireless 802.11n chipset installed, a pair of 4 watt hi-fi speakers with SRS premium sound system support, two USB 2.0 ports, a full SD/MMC/Memory Stick card reader, and a 19v DC (3.42A) 65 watt power adapter.
