The G2Sg is a 17" media laptop from Asus, marketed towards consumers who want a laptop for video, pictures and work on the side. Built on the previous generation Intel Centrino platform, the G2Sg features the most recent Intel Core 2 Duo processors, a single dimm of 667MHz DDR2 ram, and an NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT video card with 512MB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM. The 17" screen is capable of displaying full 720p or, in the event that it is the 1920 x 1200 model, almost full 1080p, and with HDMI and S/PDIF output the ability to hook up your computer to more expensive home electronics without degredation of quality is a big plus. At a whopping 9.7 pounds, however, the G2Sg is not a good travel buddy, but as a general purpose home PC it could act as a desktop replacement quite easily. Gamers also take note, this laptop has a pretty impressive graphics card and processor!
