The Asus MK221H is a mid-range LCD monitor designed to be a more consumer friendly, HD capable, universal PC monitor. The MK221H is the cheapest of two released Asus models (Asus MK221H and Asus MK241H). For increased connection the MK221H includes a DVI-D/D-sub, VGA, and HDMI 1.1 (with DHCP) hookups. The 22" MK221H has a native resolution of 1680 x 1050 with a 5000:1 contrast ratio. For additional media functionality the MK221h also includes a built in rotatable 1.3 megapixel webcam. The special HDMI input provides both audio and video support for a plethora of HD devices including but not limited to blu-ray players, HD DVD players, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 etc. The monitor has ASCR (ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio) technology installed; meaning the device will automatically adjust screen brightness, and black levels to provide the best colors possible while watching or interacting with media. The specific specifications include a 2ms response time; a 300nits brightness, 0.282mm pixel pitch, and a wide viewing angle of 170°.
