I just took a quick look at the laptops you're describing (
Asus W5A,
Sony VAIO TX, and the
Asus W7J).
A quick breakdown of some key specs:
| Spec |
Asus W5A |
Sony VAIO TX750 |
Asus W7J |
| Weight |
3.5 lbs |
2.76 lbs |
4.3 lbs |
| CPU |
2.13 GHz (single)
|
1.2 GHz (single)
|
1.83 GHz (dual)
|
| Screen |
12.1" |
11.1"
|
13.3"
|
| Price |
$1500 |
$2100 |
$1350 |
You would have to think that the W7J would be your best choice from this simple analysis. It packs quite a punch for such a small computer. (13.3" screen and a 1.83 GHz Intel Duo Core processor at only 4.3 lbs). It's also available for the cheapest of the three. Check out
this deal from eWiz.
However, if size/weight is very important to you, then you might want to look at the Sony TX series. You pay $$$ for the size.
Asus W7J - Good CPU, price, screen at a fairly low weight
The W5A would be a good intermediate choice between the W7J and the Sony TX750, but it doesn't improve much on the weight for the hit in screen size, CPU, and price.
