Launched in mid September 2008, the HD 4650 is a budget video card by ATI. Priced at $69, only $10 less than the 4670, the 4650 is set to compete with the Nvidia 9400GT for use in HTPCs or low end gaming or media PCs. Featuring the same number of stream processors, texture units and ROPs, the major differences between the 4650 and the 4670 is the reduced core clockspeed, from 750MHz to 600MHz, and the speed of the VRAM, cut from 2000MHz to 1000MHz. Thus, an improved energy consumption and TDP can be expected of the 4650, for an expected drop in gaming performance - a fair tradeoff for those interested in picking up a card for as little money as possible.

Pros
- better than onboard video from Intel
