Batman: Arkham Asylum

Batman: Arkham Asylum is a critically acclaimed video game by independent developer Rockstready Studios. Based on the comics - and not the recent films - the game is best described as an 3rd person action-adventure game. Based in Arkham Asylum where the Joker has recently broken free, the player must utilize Batman's highly advanced gadgetry and stealth abilities to quell the prisoner uprising - which includes a wide variety of super-villains - and track down and stop the Joker. Planned for release in late August 2009 for the PS3 and Xbox 360, the game will also be released on the PC platform on September 15th.

Recently had the chance to play through the demo. Twice. This game is fantastic-looking, and it plays exceedingly well at 1680 x 1050 on my (overclocked) GeForce 9600 GT. Most importantly, it was fun.

I'm really looking forward to Arkham Asylum. If you're a fan of this demo and can't wait I'd recommend checking out the Batman comic book with the same name, or "Year One" by Frank Miller.
