The BenQ Joybook Lite U101 is a stylish Intel-Atom-based notebook adorned with an emoticon design on the white, black, pink, or blue lid. It features an Intel Atom N270 processor, 512MB of DDRII RAM (upgradeable to 1GB), and an 80GB HDD (upgradeable to 160GB). Despite its savvy outer appearance and myriad of features — including a 10.1” LCD screen, 4-in-1 card reader, built-in Bluetooth, and integrated webcam — the critics have not been very satisfied with the U101. Some of the more notable complaints include the very small keyboard that leaves little room for maneuverability; a relatively short battery lifespan of 4 hours; and its unprofessional demeanor. Suffice it to say, the Joybook Lite U101 is recommended for ‘Joy’-full people who are looking for decent laptop specifications in a compact, lightweight, AND attention-grabbing frame.
