More information

Well suited for home theater PCs, the graphics card unloads all the video processing from the processor allowing for high definition video to be played back without a powerful CPU. Video output is accomplished through the one of the two DVI-I outs, which are not HDCP enabled. This means that protected high definition content from Blu-Ray discs and HD-DVD discs will not work. The pricier 8600 GT is the card that supports these playback options.

What the hell does BFG stand for? I always thought of it as Big Friendly Giant, like the little kid book, but really, what does it mean.

I have the 8600 - figured no point in getting an 8500 (I also have an 8800 GTS :P)

Do you agree?

8500's are generally slower performers then some of the 7000 generation cards, much more worth it to get a 8600 or higher
