In 2004 a favourite UK band, Muse, emerged on the US music scene. Although the music wasn't for everyone, no one could deny the talented musicians were onto something with their array of instruments and strong vocals. Their latest album is powerful and upbeat, incorporating electronica, pop, and hard rock.

Muse is one of my favorite bands of all time, with some of the craziest sounds and vocals you will ever hear. Singer Matthew Bellamy can change from a soothing, operatic ballad, to a full out vocal assault with the finesse of a balerina, and the fury of an atomic blast. The drums and bass provide one of the best driving forces behind any band, with guitar and keyboards to match. This album doesn't disapoint as a muse fan, but new fans may have better appreciation for their ealier albums Absolution [2003] (a very polished, well produced overall album), Origin of Symmetry [2001] (with their most spectacular hit, "New Born") and Showbiz [1999] (their debut and most raw, rocking album).
