The Sony SS-B3000 consists of a pair of standalone, performance bookshelf speakers designed to work alongside a surround-sound system. Each speaker includes three primary components: an 8” Kevlar woofer, a 3-1/4” mid driver, and a 1” Nano-Fine balanced dome tweeter. And not only do the pair allow for an extra-wide frequency range, but in fact output up to 120W of power—ideal for home theater use. The only notable drawback to the SS-B3000 is its cumbersome size (compares to its peers), what with each speaker weighing almost 15 lbs and being up to 20” tall.

The KEF Classic iQ10 is a basic bookshelf speaker designed for smaller rooms. This is similar to the KEF Classic iQ30, but uses a more compact design with a smaller cabinet and a 5.25 inch Uni-Q driver unit working with the standard 0.75 inch aluminum dome. This combination works to cover a 50Hz to 40kHz frequency response range, and allows an amplifier to be used at up to 100 watts of power. The unit comes in a number of wood finishes to match a wider variety of decors, and the design features subtle curves to increase the visual appeal.

The Cerwin Vega CLS-6C is the centre speaker model from Cerwin Vega's value CLS line, which aims to provide sound quality at an affordable price. The CLS-6C is the most affordable, but least powerful of Cerwin-Vega's other centre speaker models, the CMX-25C and CMX-45C.

The CLS-6C features the same technology present in the tower speaker CLS models, and includes two 6-1/2 woofers and a 1-inch soft dome tweeter. Like the other CLS speakers, the subwoofer includes a fiber impregnated cone, and the ferro-fluid tweeter. It also features Cerwin Vega's computer-optimized waveguide technology which provides high sensitivity and dynamic response along with low distortion. It is also magnetically shielded, allowing it to be placed near other electronic devices without fear of interference.

The Pioneer S-HF21-LR is a low-end 2-way bookshelf loudspeaker pair designed to fit into any home speaker configuration. Each speaker in the set features a 6 1/2" injection-molded woofer and a 3/4" adjustable soft dome tweeter. Both speakers in the S-HF21-LR paire can handle a total power of 100 watts; and is more specifically meant to be paired with additional S-HF Pioneer series speakers (S-HF11C). The Pioneer S-HF21-LR pair was released in February, 2006 and has an MSRP of $49.98.

The Infinity TSS-SAT4000 is a 3-way satellite speaker from Infinity's Total Solutions Series. The speaker features four 3.5" MMD woofers, two 3.5" MMD midrange drivers and a 3/4" MMD tweeter for handling up to 150 watts of power. It is designed with an extruded and brushed-aluminum enclosure and is available in either a platinum or charcoal finish. The TSS-SAT4000 can be positioned on a bookshelf or wall-mounted using the included wall-mount bracket. It can also be used as a floorstanding speaker and comes with three different height shelf stands so it can be adjusted to match the height of the television. It is magnetically shielded and has 5-way binding posts for easy wiring. The TSS-SAT4000 are recommended for use as rear surround speakers with Infinity's TSS-CENTER4000.

The Silver RS6 is a high-performance speaker system featuring furniture-grade finish at a reasonable price. The RS6 features a 6½-inch C-CAM (Ceramic Coated Aluminum Magnesium) woofer, a 6½-inch C-CAM midrange driver, and a 1-inch C-CAM gold dome tweeter.

The RS6 woofer and midrange driver incorporate new edge-wound voice coils to provide increased efficiency, output, and power handling. The voice coils have more copper and heat capacity than other voice coils resulting in 90dB efficiency and 120-watt power handling for the RS6. The speaker’s dynamic range is increased because the ‘start-and-stop’ of the voice coil more efficiently converts incoming signal into motion.

The RS6’s 2½-way design is optimized by an integral structure of dedicated driver chambers providing increased bass extension while maintaining high overall efficiency.
