The Boston Acoustics HS460 is a 2-way floor-standing speaker that sports dual 6.5” subwoofers, dual 7.0” CoPolymer DCD passive radiators, and one 1” Kortec soft dome tweeter. The sixth speaker in the Boston Acoustics HS series, the HS460 is an upgrade from the HS450. It supports an external amplifier with 15-250 Watts of power (versus 15-200) and a superior crossover frequency of 2800Hz (versus 2600Hz). The HS460, however, maintains all of the HS450’s other features, such as a Deep Channel Design for more bass per less map power, a Reduced Baffle Diffraction Design for wider/smoother sound dispersion, and a Maximized Bass Output System for higher quality bass acoustics. In addition, the HS460 features 5-way gold-plated binding posts, built-in-wall mounting brackets, and a soft-touch finish (Mist or Midnight) with an optional color-coordinated P.O.P. grille for $49.99. The Boston Acoustics HS460 is priced at $499.99, a $100 increase from the inferior HS450, but a $1250.00 savings from its superior competitor, the lavishly-designed and super-elegant triple 6.5” subwoofer VS336.
