The Boston Acoustics SA1 is a subwoofer power amplifier designed to be used with the Sub10f, VRiSub82, or VRiSub85 installed subwoofers. In fact, the SA1 has enough power (up to 210w @ 4 ohms) to drive up to two of either aforementioned subwoofers, which in turn can be installed in “strategic, out-of-sight locations.” In addition, the SA1 comes equipped with selectable crossover and equalizer settings, a selectable 12-volt or music input trigger, and a gold-plated left/right and LFE input. The 19” SA1 is also rack-mountable and sports a contemporary black finish that’ll fit in any home theater environment. The Boston Acoustics SA1 is priced at $600.00. For under $3000, a full three piece set home theater system accompanied with the SA1 and two subwoofers (Sub10f, VRiSub85, or VRiSub85) can be purchased. It may seem expensive, but it’s considered worth the cost due to the Boston Installed Subwoofer Series capability for convenient placement, out-of-view positioning, and wall mountable options.
