The Britax Frontier is a top-of-the-line combination foward facing harness-to-booster infant car seat offered by Britax. This model was recognized as "best bets" by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It is one of four models made available by Britax that features the more advanced True Side Impact Protection. This advanced protection is designed to reduce neck and spine injuries by minimizing side-to-side head movement with extra energy-absorbing foam around the head. As in standard side impact protection, the deep side walls with absorbing foam are designed to distribute overall crash forces, shield the baby from vehicle intrusion and contain the head and body. The Versa-Tether anchors the top of the seat to the vehicle to reduce movement in the event of an impact. The Britax Frontier features a best-in-class forward-facing five-point harnessed weight capacity up to 80 pounds, and is designed to carry children over 2 years old weighing over 25 lbs, standing from 30" to 53" and with a seated shoulder height of 12" to 18.25". The harness features one-hand height adjustment with heights varrying from 12.25" to 18.25". When used as a booster seat, the Frontier is designed for a child weighing between 40 and 100 lbs, who stands between 42" and 60" tall and has a 13.5" to 21.5" seated shoulder height. Other features include comfort foam, dual cup holders and armrests. The Britax Frontier is available in a wide array of fabric fashions, and is also certified for aircraft travel.
