This might seem like voodoo magic, but it really works! Take the ceramic disk and place it in water for 15 minutes, pat it dry and then place it in your brown sugar container. It will then (somehow!) soften your hardened brown sugar. It can also be used to keep dried fruit, marshmallows and cookies moist.
