The Buffalo DriveStation HD-CX is an external hard drive with hardware encryption offered by Buffalo-Technology. The full hardware encryption gives maximum security for you important data with two modes of encryption. Non-Encryption mode lets data be viewed by any computer connected to the drive while Full Disk Encryption mode uses the robust AES256bit standard of encryption to encrypt data as soon as it is written to the drive and is protected with a password. It is enclosed in a shock resitant chassis for added protection and has eco-friendly features such as Power Saving Mode for Windows to power on and off with your PC. The Buffalo DriveStation HD-CX includes Picasa and Memeo AutoSync backup software and is available in 500GB, 1.0TB, 1.5TB and 2.0TB models.
