Livestream Teradek CUBE-200

The Livestream Teradek CUBE-200 is a 1-channel HDMI encoder / camcorder top accessory kit that—unlike the CUBE-100, CUBE-120, and CUBE-130—supports standard digital cameras and phones, versus professional-grade HD-SDI ones. Like its superior counterparts, however, the CUBE-200 still provides the basic same functionality of allowing users to more easily stream live video content to the Internet. It integrates with Livestream, after which users can employ either the Verizon 4G LTE network or a wired 10/100 standard Ethernet connection to stream content. The device supports full 1080p videos, but it also offers support and upscaling options for other video modes. More importantly, the CUBE-200 supports the H.264 High Profile (Level 4.1) video compression format, which means full high definition content will be displayed with optimal settings.

Livestream Teradek CUBE-100

The Livestream Teradek CUBE-100 is a 1-channel HD-SDI encoder / camcorder accessory kit that essentially allows a user to connect his or her digital camcorder to the world. It integrates with Livestream and provides the tools needed so users can easily stream live video directly to the Internet via their Livestream account. As for connectivity, there are several options, including the Verizon 4G LTE network with upload/download speeds of approximately 8Mbps (modem connected via USB), and wired 10/100 standard Ethernet. The device basically eliminates the need for having to setup a huge broadcasting truck. And it’s versatile, in that it works with every brand of digital camera or camcorder, including those of Panavision, Canon, and Arri. Also included is an HD-SDI input.

Livestream Teradek CUBE-230

The Livestream Teradek CUBE-230 is a 1-channel HDMI encoder / camcorder top accessory kit that doesn’t have WIFI like the CUBE-220. Instead it allows users to employ either the Verizon 4G LTE network or an Ethernet connection to stream video the Internet more easily versus the conventional method of relying on a huge broadcasting truck. One thing the CUBE-230 does offer is Power over Ethernet (PoE), meaning it doesn’t require connectivity to a DC outlet, as it can derive power directly from the Ethernet connection. Like its peer, the CUBE-230 integrates with Livestream. Also like its peer, the CUBE-230 offers video upscaling, so lower quality films (such as those from a low grade camcorder) can be raised in quality, though to a limit.

Livestream Teradek CUBE-220

The Livestream Teradek CUBE-220 is a 1-channel HDMI encoder / camcorder top accessory kit that builds from the CUBE-200. Like its counterpart, it was engineered so users with digital cameras or smartphones with an HDMI connection can stream live video to the Internet through their Livestream account. The difference is that whereas the CUBE-200 is limited to Verizon 4G LTE and Ethernet, the CUBE-220 offers an integrated wireless module with a range of approximately 300 ft. Like its peer, the CUBE-220 supports various video qualities, including 1080p (1920 x 1080), and the H.264 compression type, which means videos transmitted are displayed optimally. Also like its counterpart, the device is very versatile, in that it can work with any digital recording device with an HDMI port, whether it’s from Panavision, Canon, or Arri.

Livestream Teradek CUBE-130

The Livestream Teradek CUBE-130 is a 1-channel HD-SDI encoder / camcorder accessory kit. It’s a model that doesn’t have WiFi like the CUBE-100. But unlike the CUBE-100 and CUBE-120, the CUBE-130 supports Power over Ethernet (POE), which means it doesn’t have to be hooked up to a DC port. Instead it can derive energy directly through its 10/100 standard Ethernet port. Like its peers, the device was built to make it easier to stream live video to the Internet. It accepts content through an HD-SDI port and then submits it either by Ethernet or through the Verizon 4G LTE network. Note that a Livestream account is required, as the CUBE-130 integrates with the Livestream platform. And also like its peers, the device supports full high definition video, as well as other lower quality forms like 720p and 480p as well.

The Livestream Teradek CUBE-120 is a 1-channel HD-SDI encoder / camcorder accessory kit that upgrades from the CUBE-100. Unlike the CUBE-100, which can only provide WiFi via an optional and separately purchased USB WiFi modem, the CUBE-120 comes with integrated WiFi connectivity with a range of 300’. Like its peer, it also supports WiFi. It essentially receives digital camera or smartphone video footage from an HD-SDI input, and then broadcasts it on the Internet via Livestream. Plus it supports H.264 compression, meaning that the broadcasted video appears at an optimal quality level. Also like its peer, the CUBE-120 can upscale low quality video to a higher quality level. Plus it’s very versatile, in that it can accept any type of camera or phone, assuming the proper connectivity ports.
