Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1i
Leaked accidentally on March 24th 2009, and realeased officially a day later, the EOS Digital Rebel T1 - known as the 500D everywhere else in the world - i is a digital SLR camera from Canon. Featuring the same body as the XSi, the T1i includes a sensor that matches that found in the 50D, allowing for 15.1MP images and full 1080p video recording. The device will cost $800 for the body only, or $900 for a kit which includes the default XSi 18-55 IS EF-S lens.

- slow continuous shooting (3.4fps vs. 4.5 on the Canon 50D or Nikon D90)
- only 720p video at 30fps, but not 1080p - this is no real FullHD video recording
- can record only until 4GB of videofile size. Video is limited to 12 minutes.
- only monoaural sound built in - no stereo sound
- no overhead video or photo possible because screen is not tiltable
