Pros
- high quality pictures
- nearly instantaneous turn-on/wake-up times (0.2s)
- impressive long battery life
- great starter SLR!
- fast startup time
- lightweight for an SLR
- little shutter lag
- very little noise even at high sensitivity
Cons
- small size means it won't fit everyone's hand
- small LCD screen
- supplied lens is very basic
- LCD display is hard to view in sunlight
- the 8MP sensor isn't the highest on the markets (see Rebel XTi)
- slightly slow burst of 3fps with a total of 9 burst shots on full res
- plastic body
- some of the controls are poorly positioned and are easy to accidentaly hit while shooting

Pros
- impressive long battery life
- manual functions are fantastic
- good for beginners who have never used a DSLR before
- download software is quick
- you can switch out the lenses
- dedicated settings screen
Cons
- small LCD screen
- supplied lens is very basic
- the 8MP sensor isn't the highest on the markets (see Rebel XTi)
- slightly slow burst of 3fps with a total of 9 burst shots on full res
- cannot shoot using the LCD panel; you always have to use the viewfinder
- no movie capability
- you have to purchase a memory card separately
- won't let you get up really close to something to take a picture, even on macro
- it won't take a picture at night time
