Canon PIXMA MP495

$80.00 Released August, 2010

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Print quality on text documents and photos is detailed and high-quality. Minimal footprint, can be put on the desk without taking up much space. Easy to use, don't really need the instructions.

The Cons:Takes a long time to start printing more detailed documents. Paper handling mechanisms are very noisy. Looks cheap - clad in glossy black plastic.

The MP495 is an entry-level, wireless all-in-one model in Canon's PIXMA series of photo inkjet printers. It is essentially identical to the MP280, but adds 802.11n Wi-Fi functionality and a one-year, rather than 90-day warranty.

Product Shot 2 The MP495 can print a 4x6 color photo in about 41 seconds at 4800x1200dpi and offers Auto Photo Fix II for automated photo enhancement without a PC, removing red-eye and adjusting exposure. It can print high-resolution images from video frames via Full HD Movie Print. The MP495's scan functionality includes Auto Document Fix, which aims to produce clearer scanned text and images via image analysis and data correction. Higher-end models operate at finer resolutions and add features like PictBridge connectivity, which enables printing directly from certain phones and cameras, and auto-duplexing for easier double-sided printing.
