The PIXMA MP970 is a top-of-the-line general purpose all-in-one printer, scanner, copier from Canon. Primarily designed for a small amount of home/home office use due to its slow speed and small ink cartridges, the MP970 features an improved printing system from earlier models, dropping the MP610's 5 cartridge system a more complex 7-cartridge design. With a newly improved scanner the MP970 continues to have memory card support with a larger 3.5" LCD display for previewing and selecting photographs to print without the need for a PC. Like the majority of Canon models, the MP970 allows users to print directly from their digital cameras, regardless of brand, without the need for a PC. It also allows for oversized scanning. Unlike lower models, the MP970 also includes an Ethernet port for use on a LAN without the need for a host PC to be powered on.
