The Canon PowerShot A1000 IS is part of the new expansion of the popular A-series, which has been targeted as a low price digital line for general consumers. Unlike the step-up model, the A2000 IS, the A1000 IS includes an optical viewfinder, a feature which continues to appeal to many photographers. While the camera is quite feature-rich for the price range, the control it offers is limited to scene modes and some tweaking of color range, saturation and a handful of other image parameters, not true manual control over aperture and shutter speed.
