Canon Powershot SD770 IS

The Canon Powershot SD770 IS is modelled after the ELPH design and is meant to provide high-quality performance with a compact body and size. It features a 10 megapixel CCD and a 3x optical image-stabilized zoom along with Face Detection, Red Eye Detection and Motion Detection technology for reducing blur and capturing accurate colour. The Powershot SD770 IS is also equipped with a 2.5-inch PureColour LCD II screen and can export images to a variety of standard external memory cards.

Just picked this up for $200 at the local Futureshop along with a $20 8GB Class 6 SD card (from Canada Computers). It's a very good price for a sweet little point and shoot. I'll post more after I play around with it a bit.

  • Excellent form factor. Nice size, pocketable, big shutter button, nice metallic finish. Like a deck of cards
  • Very fast startup time and time between shots because of DIGIC III
  • Simple to use. Minimalist design and UI
  • Great price. Price drop since newer ones are out that aren't really better
  • Hookup directly to computer via USB cable (no cradle)
  • Great picture quality
  • Assignable button on the back can be set to any one of several built-in functions
