Essentially the same as the Canon PowerShot SD950 IS, the SD990 IS Digital ELHP comes with premium features. This model is a step above from the entry line models, equipped with DIGIC 4 Image Processor focusing on improved portrait and group shots. The 3.7X Optical and 4X Digital Zoom found on this camera is not the strongest Canon puts out in the PowerShot line up, but the Optical Image Stabilizer feature will account for advancement. The 14.7 Megapixel Resolution puts this cameras potential on a higher level than other PowerShots. On-top of the 2.5” LCD monitor a Viewfinder is installed, for added convenience, along with a built-in flash that has a Red-Eye Reduction feature. Keeping this unit small and light, at 165grams, is the rechargeable Lithium-ion NB-5L battery. Lastly, like most other Canon PowerShot models, the SD950 IS comes preloaded with a variety of shooting modes and features.
