The Canon SD1200 IS is a point-and-shoot digital camera from Canon's Digital ELPH series. The camera features a 10 megapixel sensor and records VGA video in 640 x 480 resolution. It includes a DIGIC 4 Image Processor that delivers face detection technology and has a face detection self timer for taking self portraits and group shots. The SD1200 IS offers 3x optical and 4x digital zoom with Canon's optical image stabilizer technology for clear closeup shots. It is designed with a 2.5" PureColor LCD display and has an intelligent AUTO feature which analyzes the shooting conditions and selects the appropriate setting. The SD1200 IS is expected to be released in March 2009 in a variety of colors including blue, pink, green, orange, light grey, and dark grey.
