Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8

The Canon TS-E 90mm f/2.8 is the base model in Canon's Tilt Shift line, a line that Canon promotes as expanding photographic possibilities. Tilt movements help to capture a wide depth of field, and shift movements help get rid of the trapezoidal effect that sometimes distorts images of tall subjects.

 Canon promotes this lens as being ideal for a variety of subjects. The TS-E 90mm f/2.8 has the same maximum aperture (f/2.8) as the closely related TS-E 45mm f/2.8, but with a higher focal length (90mm as opposed to 45mm), lower element count (6/5 as opposed to 10/9), lower angle of view (27 degrees as opposed to 51), higher close focusing distance (1.6 feet as opposed to 1.3 feet), overall linear extension focusing system as opposed to rear focusing system and larger filter and dimensions. The 27 degree angle of view is the lowest in the Tilt Shift line. Like all the Tilt Shift lenses, the TS-E 90mm f/2.8 has only manual focus, putting you in ultimate control focusing. Like the TS-E 45mm f/2.8, the TS-E 90mm f/2.8 does not have the UD glass construction or SWC coating of the higher end Tilt Shift lenses.
