The Vixia HF10 is Canon's first flash-based camcorder. It can record in full high-definition 1080p and follows Panasonic's and Sony's AVCHD format which uses an MPEG-4 AVC video codec. The HF10 comes in a compact body weighing in at 15.1 ounces and fits snugly in the palm of your hand. The HF10 has a new Canon lens with 12x optical zoom, slightly higher than the other cameras in this class which typically have 10x zoom.
