The Kicker Solo-Baric L7 12 subwoofer is designed to be used in small spaces. It is build with a aluminium treated composite cone in the base and has a cast aluminum basket. The MTX JackHammer JH4512 is a 12" car subwoofer developed after MTX's True 22-inch JackHammer SuperWoofer series. The subwoofer is designed with a silver polypropylene cone with an industrial looking dust cap with MTX's JackHammer logo. The JL Audio 13TW5 are 13.5" flat-styled subwoofers that are some of the thinnest high-powered subwoofers on the market. To give context to this claim, a typical 12" driver requires well over one cubic foot to operate properly whereas the 13TW5 needs only 0.8 cubic feet. Extra large voice coils (7" x 5.5" diameter) are installed to handle large amounts of power, which compensates for the small enclosure requirement. The JVC CS-AW8540 is more expensive than most in the 2009 JVC Mobile line but it is not unique. It is similiar to its sister product, the JVC CS-AW8520. Both of these products expense translates into power and a particular set of features that make them stand out from the rest. It is a 15" subwoofer that delivers a strong 4500 watt peak power and 1500 watts of RMS power. The subwoofer requires a mounting depth of 9-11/16". It has a triple stacked magnet and a cone made out of paper and hemp, an effective and natural way to deliver sound. The JVC CS-AW8540 has additional features such as a dual-input 4 ohms voice coil, an aluminum-cast frame, santoprene surround,  and copper and abs terminals. It has a decent frequency range from 20 to 500 hz and a sensitivity of 88db/W.m. The manufacturer's website does not list the product as having any sort of warranty.

The 12" square Solo-Baric S12L5 is a mid size subwoofer available in Kicker's Solo-Baric L5 product line of car subwoofers. The Kicker Solo Classic 8 is a subwoofer designed for small box installation in car audio systems. The JVC CS-AW8040 is one of the more powerful and expensive members of the 2009 JVC mobile line. It is a small 10" subwoofer but gives the owner a large 3000 watts of maximum power handling with continuous 1000 watts RMS. It differs from its sister model, the JVC CS-SW7240, by being more powerful, smaller, and slightly more expensive. It uses dual 2 ohm voice coils and a rapid-fire impedence selector terminal that has fuse protection, a neccessary feature to increase the durability of the product. The subwoofer has a T3 Chassis that works together with heat transfer silicon to transfer the thermal energy to prevent overheating and long term damage. It uses a Kevlar Laminated HEMP Cone to enhance the sound and performance. The manufacture website does not list the JVC CS-AW8040 as having a 2 year warranty like some of the other models.

It costs just under 100 dollars from the company but can be purchased direct elseware such as eBay for a significantly cheaper price. It is part of Boss's Diablo car audio series which is a mid-level line. Chaos being their low line and Outcast being their high-end line.

The JL Audio 10W1v2-4 is a 10" sub-woofer available in JL Audio's W1v2 product series. The W1v2 series itself, which is the most affordable line of sub-woofers offered by JL Audio, borrows many technologies from JL's top of the line W7 and W6v2 sub-woofer line. Some of these technologies are VRC (vented reinforcement collar), Elevated Frame-Cooling and Floating Cone Attach Method. The 10W1v2-4 works best in small enclosures making it ideally suited for smaller or hard to fit vehicles. The mounting ring is removable and customizable making installation of the speaker grille-mesh simple with no extra required hardware. (Grille mesh inserts are sold seperately.) This also allows the ring to be painted to match the desired look of the car interior. The optimum power range for the 10W1v2-4 is 125-250W, and running over 300W will void the manufacturers warranty. To go over 300W, you will need to move up to the 13W1v2-4/8, or upgrade to one of JL's superior sub-woofer lines. The 10W1v2-4 has a free air resonance of 25.24 Hz with a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. Dual-Stacked Strontium Magnet, much heavier and more powerful than the standard magnets the rest of them have. It comes with a 2 year warranty, something the website doesn't list all of them having, and delivers 3000 watts of maximum power handling, along with 1000 watts of continuous power. Its expense translates into power and a particular set of features that make it stand out from the rest such as being a 15" subwoofer. It delivers a strong 4500 watt peak power and 1500 watts of RMS power. It has a triple stacked magnet delivers quite a punch. The cone is made out of paper and hemp, an effective and natural way to deliver sound. The JVC CS-AW8520 has additional features such as a dual-input 2 ohms voice coil, an aluminum-cast frame, santoprene surround, and copper and abs terminals. It has a decent frequency range from 20 to 500 hz and a sensitivity of 88db/W.m. The manufacturer's website does not list the product as having any sort of warranty.

The Hifonics Atlas ATLSQ12D4 is a dual ohm 12” subwoofer built from a polypropylene cone with a woven honeycomb structured support body. Similar to the Atlas ATL12D2, the ATLSQ12D4 offers a peak power handling of 1200w and nominal power handling of 600w. The ATLSQ12D4, however, ditches the ATL12D2’s circular frame in favor of a square frame. In addition, the ATLSQ12D4 utilizes a 3” voice coil with a glass fiber former and aluminum cone neck reinforcement that supports 4 ohms versus 2. The ATLSQ12D4 also features a 1” tall rubber surround for larger excursion, a 140 Oz magnet, and a ported nickel plated back support.

The MTX Audio Thunder Thin TT6512 is a 12" car subwoofer designed very thin and compact at only 3.325" deep which allows it to fit almost anywhere. The subwoofer has an extra dense injection molded polypropylene semi-dome woofer stamped with a gothic-style MTX logo and a rubber surround. It features a one piece spider cone that allows the subwoofer to produce the same excursion levels as MTX Audio's Thunder Round series. The Thunder Thin TT6512 includes large basket frame venting to keep the subwoofer cool and a heavy duty push terminal. It produces 400 RMS watts of power and has a single 2-ohm or 4-ohm voice coil depending on the submodel. The TT6510 is the larger and more powerful of the two Thunder Thin series subwoofers.

The JL Audio 10W1v2-8 is a 10" sub-woofer available in JL Audio's W1v2 product series. The W1v2 series itself, which is the most affordable line of sub-woofers offered by JL Audio, borrows many technologies from JL's top of the line W7 and W6v2 sub-woofer line. Some of these technologies are VRC (vented reinforcement collar), Elevated Frame-Cooling and Floating Cone Attach Method. The 10W1v2-8 works best in small enclosures making it ideally suited for smaller or hard to fit vehicles. The mounting ring is removable and customizable making installation of the speaker grille-mesh simple with no extra required hardware. (Grille mesh inserts are sold seperately.) This also allows the ring to be painted to match the desired look of the car interior. The optimum power range for the 10W1v2-8 is 125-250W, and running over 300W will void the manufacturers warranty. To go over 300W, you will need to move up to the 13W1v2-4/8, or upgrade to one of JL's superior sub-woofer lines. The 10W1v2-8 has a free air resonance of 26.52 Hz with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms. However, like all the W1v2 sub-woofers, there is a 4 ohm version which is sold as the 10W1v2-4 allowing consumers to pick the sub-woofer which suits their audio set-up.
